Thai Boxing or "Muay Thai" is an art of fighting that focuses mainly on the use of different
body parts like fist, foot, knee and elbow Thai Boxing is divided mainly into 4 regions.
Each Region has its own unique boxing style.






North Region Thai Boxing such as Muay Tha-Sao,
emphasizes on the use of your feet and rapid movement to win over the opponent. Because of its unique rapid dodge, people named this kind of boxing "Muay Teen-Ling (Monkey feet boxing). The boxer tends to cover thier arms with Calico till mid-arm.





North-Eastern Region (E-sarn) Thai Boxing such as Muay Ko-rat, Muay Loom and etc. emphasizes on kicking and punching around the opponent in a wide circular motion. Muay Ko-rat has a unique punch call "bud viang khwai" (Punch Buffalo).  The boxer tends to cover their arms with rope till the elbows in order to withstand the hard kicks and hard punch from their opponent.

Central Region Thai Boxing such as Muay Lop-Buri, Muay Pra-Nakorn(Capital) emphasizes on straight punching and kicking right at the opponent and dodging through the counter-attack. Speed is essentail for this kind of boxing. The boxer tends to cover their arms with Calico till mid-arm.



South Region Thai Boxing such as Muay Chai-ya and etc. emphasizes on the concise and tactful attack. Chai-ya Boxing is famous for its skillfully use of elbows to attack the opponent
at a very close range.The boxer tends to cover their wrist with Calico in order to prevent the
strain of the wrist.
